Acting and prostitution..
It comes very naturally to them..oomph!! afterall ,awards are assured..
With due respect to my fundamental right of freedom of speech and expression..the title doesn't mean all actors are prostitutes but wat it wants to convey is the performance metrics that are generally used to guage an actor's performance..esp actors who are not men.
Let mee see it thru by eyes..every body knows bollywood generates the biggest shit but sometimes it comes up with themes which are a very vibrant,"realistic" protrayal of a woman..who was forced into a trade where all objects are treated like women. The movies are made with so much of "reality" at stake.
So naturally the audience when seeing these "true story" movies empathizes and sympathizes with the woman..some perverts get excited seeing her semi-naked all time..but that was not wat the movie meant to be.This women who has done the character with such force and naturality will be generally accepted as the "best actress" for that year.Every heroine who does these characters just give commanding performances year after year..and the bag the awards for sure year after year.
A dimwit like me sits in the movie hall ,with his mouth and eyes wide open and is pretty confused whether she is acting or she is just doing it naturally that comes to her.The stupid me thinks like that bcoz i have never seen these people acting in any previous movies before..and i can't recall any movie where they had any imporatant part in the main plot line of the story..or in a role where people noticed her!!..here by the usage of the word 'notice' i refer to her theatrical abilities..and not wat you think.
A typical heroine reaction after being signed up as a prostitue for the next movie may go like this "Ohh god!! iam sooooo excited to do this role.It is really a bad thing that such trade is still continuing even till today and in this movie iam going to do justice for those women.People don't know the plight of these women and we have come up with issues that we genrally don't talk....i have always been into social work from my school days and this is just an extension of that personality of mine."
wow!! social work..indeed they are social workers..they work for the society indeed..i mean the heroines..and please don't think like that..they are poor people and that is just a way of life for them.
I have just seen the rising(my frnds already call it rani's rising) and leaving amir khan and his friend that white guy..who really have done nicely ..the story though strong ..didn't have the visual impact nor the directional finesse..which was wat is required..a commanding performance by rani ..remembering me kareena, tabu and so many other heroines who have just gave their life to "the role"..
i hope she gets a national award for playing such an important, historical fictional character in mangal pandey's life..
