The unusual assembly.
Everybody were busy, they have to manage the affairs of the world. One particular group wasn’t particularly interested. They should have been free from pains and suffering or the coarse nationalism of the masses. They have been free from a long time and they are in heaven. As the saying goes fun and frolic everyday is hell and that is what heaven seems to be like for them.
When they were alive they worked tirelessly and GOD has ordained them to eternal happiness and that is hell to them. So they decided to meet for one minute and one minute in heaven is a day on earth. They chose 15th august. The world is four dimensional and to get a unique point of meeting not only time the place too has to be fixed so they decided they will meet under the parijata tree.
The minute eventually came and they somehow managed to run off from their non stopping dance shows of the gorgeous apsaras. The group where just a minority of yet to be god’s whom the people on earth hardly remember now a days. They were Buddha, Ashoka, Sankaracharya and Gandhi. They started their meeting on the affairs of the third rock from the sun discussions on which is hugely forbidden in heaven. They were all staring at the same tiny spot on the planet they started of f from.
“That is the country for which I starved myself to death so many a times”
“I walked on foot all over the country and established its supremacy when at a time it was plunging into the dark ages”
“I left everything I possessed and faced many a hardships for the people to realize that such mundane materialistic clinging won’t take them anywhere”
“My symbol is on the emblem of the country. It symbolizes power, courage and confidence. Whether our country men have it now is the question?”
Sankara replied “That the culture has withstood so many attacks and is still resilient in it’s showcasing of their diversity points that outwardly it may look weak but its inner strength is unmatched. No matter what anybody can do they can’t touch the soul of the country. All alien cultures assimilated into it, it should be the strongest of all”
“The independence for which thousands and thousands of people who sacrificed their lives for seems to be forgotten” said Gandhi.
“It is not that it is forgotten but Bharatha Varsha has long been under subjugation and still continues to be. Had I been walking on earth now, I would not have been as free as I was before” A temporary pause and Buddha continued “Gandhi please don’t give that teasing look when I say free. Even you are the same don’t you remember you are called an half naked fakir”
“The country has achieved freedom is just a myth. It needs independence not just in the paper but in thought, word and action” said Sankara.
Ashoka picking up “People are to be given the responsibilities and not just rights which are eventually futile when there are no duties. Absolute freedom which allows what one has to say should be given .Democracy is not what majority accepts but listening to everybody though one may not accept to it.”
“People should start believing that on them lies the responsibility of themselves. There is nobody to take care for. The government should absolutely be subservient to the people, in the sense that the government should believe that people left to themselves are inherently innovative and they are productive. The government role is nothing but a facilitator in the various economic and social activities.”
Gandhi putting his view added “the confidence that we can achieve anything should be grilled into the educational system. It largely has become a boring and futile exercise where the stress is still on the ways to survival. The youth which I have been observing is more interested to lead a safe life rather then striving to the risky path and in that safe life there is nothing but adjustments and constant servility. Boycott the schools and universities if all they manage to do is make one feel insecure about their future.”
“That is typical of you Gandhi after all you were the one who boycotted most of it that came in your way and made others boycott too, the non-cooperation movement, civil disobedience movement, salt satyagraha and quit India “ said Buddha .A moment of silence ,that is how they smile in heaven.
“The people are what makes a country and the culture it has is what makes it unique. These facts should never be forgotten lest one is compelled to follow foreign cultures and start praising them and criticizing their very own birth place. In the end one should never be attached excessively to anything. The war is alone and how you chose to fight is all that makes a difference.” Sankara concluded.
“The war or pain exists and denying that is not life but postponing of the pains. There is an origin for this pain and it can be ended; that is Nirvana. That is freedom and independence.”
